I contributed to a 529 for my daughter in Illinois in 2021. However, I'm not seeing anyplace in TurboTax to get a credit applied for that contribution. Where is this?

You can't take a credit on your federal taxes. However, some states let you deduct all or part of your 529 plan contributions.

In Illinois return:

  1. Continue until you get to the screen titled "Here's the income that Illinois handles differently".
  2. On that page, there will be a section for Education
  3. Click Start next to College savings and prepaid tuition plan contributions to enter your information.
