I do not want to claim American opportunity credit. How do i do that?

In the education interview, when asked, enter that you have already taken the AOC for 4 years. You will be disallowed for the credit and this won't go on  the tax return.

 

Remember that fibbing to TurboTax to get it to do what you want is OK.

Type> letme <in the search box. That will take you to a screen where you can change your tuition credit/deduction to one of the other alternatives.

 

If you are not claiming it because you want t let your student claim it; that is generally not allowed. You need to explain what you are trying to do for more specific advice.
