I fully withdrew from my university after a semester of being a full time student. Does this still count as being a full time student, or do I need the credits?

Q. Does this still count as being a full time student?
A. If the semester covered parts of 5 calendar months, e.g. Jan 31 (or earlier) to May 1 (or later), you were considered a full time student for 2023. The 5 months did not have to be consecutive.
But, being a full time student usually only affects whether you can be claimed as a dependent, on someone else's tax return, under the Qualifying child dependent rules. You are still eligible for a tuition credit, regardless of how long you were enrolled in school.
