Question

I graduated in 2019 with a four year degree, but I am unsure how to answer "Had You Earned Four Years of College Credit Before 2019?". Do I reply with a "yes" for this?

It depends.

If you were able to claim the American Opportunity Credit over the last four tax returns, then you will select yes.

The American Opportunity Credit can only be claimed for four years. This question is there to ensure you only claim the credit for the 4 years. Anything beyond that would be disallowed.

You may still be eligible for the Lifetime Learning Credit or the Tuition & fees deduction. I have attached some additional information in the following links for your reference.
