Question

I graduated in December of 2020 and earned a Bachelor's degree but my Education Expenses Summary lists as "Working Towards a Degree." How do I change this?

You don't want to change that.

In tax year 2020, you were working on a degree since you did not attain that degree before the tax year started. Some credits are no longer available the tax year AFTER you graduate.

Expenses you paid in 2020 are considered paid while working towards a degree.

If you have any expenses paid in 2021, those expenses may not be eligible for the American Opportunity Tax Credit since you are no longer working towards a degree in 2021.
