Question

I have a 1098 form but my taxes were included into my escrow account. My 1098 form doesn't have a specific tax box. What do i do?

Are you referring to your property tax?

Your 1098 form should report the real estate tax paid if it is paid from your escrow account.  

  • Check box 10 ("Other") on Form 1098. This represents the amount of real estate taxes you paid on your residence during the tax year.
  • Call your lender and ask.
  • Go to your city or county tax assessor's website and look for a link to Property search or Property Tax records.
