If your daughter who is listed on the 1098-T is your dependent, enter the 1098-T on your return.

Here's how to enter your 1098-T:

    1. Open or continue your return.
    2. Select Federal and then Deductions & Credits.
    3. Select I'll choose what I work on.
    4. Under Education, select Start or Update next to Expenses and Scholarships (Form 1098-T).
    5. Follow the screens to enter your info.

The 1098-T is only an informational document. The numbers on it are not required to be entered onto your or your student's tax return. However receipt of a 1098-T frequently means you (as the parent of a student-dependent) are either eligible for a tuition credit or possibly your student has taxable scholarship income.

If you claim the tuition credit, you do need to report that your student got one  (the TurboTax interview will handle this). So, you enter her 1098-T on YOUR tax return.
