Question

I have a 1098T for me and I have one for my son whom I can claim. When entering his 1098T it doesn't let me add his name but keeps the questions in my name.

In order to add your son's Form 1098-T to your taxes,  in your account, you first have to enter his information under Dependent.  Then follow these steps:

In TurboTax online,

  • Sign in to your TurboTax account and select Pick up where you left off
  • At the right upper corner, in the search box, type in "1098t" and Enter
  • Select Jump to 1098t
  • On the screen, Your Education Expenses Summary, select Add A Student.  See the image below
  • Follow prompts

Make sure your son is first added as a dependent. If so, the program should ask who the student is and you should have an opportunity to choose your son.
