If both schools are located in the US and both are eligible educational institutions, the answer would be No.  Once you have finished your first four years post-secondary school years, you cannot claim the American Opportunity Tax Credit AOTC on the second school.  ( Your fours years is up).  However, you may still qualify for the other two kinds of the education benefit, the Lifetime Learning Credit or Tuition and Fees deductions.

To check if your school are eligible, click here: US schools

If your previous school was not an eligible institution on the list, you may qualify for the AOTC on your second school only if your second school is one of the eligible institution and you also meet other requirements for AOTC.  For AOTC requirements, click here: AOTC
