I have still not received money from the unemployment tax break does it matter that I received the education tax credit

Just keep waiting.  The IRS is sending them out in batches over the summer.

Q. does it matter that I received the education tax credit?

A. Possibly.  When you get the revised refund depends on the complexity of your return.  The tuition credit is a possible "complexity"  If your AGI was in the phase out range, for the credit,  your refund could increase. 

The IRS began (May 14) sending out refunds for only  the simpler returns (single taxpayers who had the simplest tax returns, such as those filed by taxpayers who did not claim children or any refundable tax credits).
