Question

I’m trying to file my tax return for 2017. I was a junior student in 2016. I want LLC or AOTC instead of tuition deduction. I wonder if turbo tax can help me revise it.

I wonder if I can ask someone from turbo tax to revise my current file manually.

If you were a student in 2016, you would report those expenses on your 2016 tax year return which was due in April of 2017.

If you claimed the "Tuition and Fees" deduction, and now want to claim a credit, you will need to amend the 2016 tax year return.

The AOTC can only be claimed 4 times per student.

When you amend the 2016 return in TurboTax, type   letme   into the search box to see which credits you are elifible for and change the selection if possible.
