I owe on federal taxes for the past 2 years. If I paid my friend's daughters private catholic school education can i deduct that on my return to lower my tax bill?

There is no deduction for private school tuition for kindergarten through 12th grade, even for you own child. Your payment for your friend's daughter's private school is a gift to your friend. You cannot deduct a gift to an individual. The fact that it's a religious school does not make it deductible.
