I paid for my daughters college tuition and books out of pocket all year. Were doe that figure get inputted?

Your daughter should get Form 1098-T Tuition from her school. You can enter your daughter's education expenses if you claim her your dependent. To enter Form 1098-T, click on How do I enter Form 1098-T?

Once you enter the 1098-T, you will be prompted to enter Other Education Expenses (for all schools). See the screenshot below.
