Question

I purchased non-credited investment training, does this count as education towards any deductions?

Course cost was $50,000. The material in the training covered a large portion of business school and marketing. Does it have to have college credit to be eligible for deduction, or is there another type of deduction it can fit under?

If the course is not from a qualified educational institution and you did not receive a form 1098-T for the tuition paid, then the cost does not qualify as qualified education expenses for the education credits or the tuition and fees deduction.

If you have a business, it can be deductible as a business expense if the course helps improve or maintain your skills in your current business. If it is for a future business or field of activity, then it is not deductible.
