Hello,

I received a 1098-T form and in box 1 it shows 1360 and in box 5 it shows 703.75. I never paid the school any fees at all as it is being paid directly from my employer to the school. Did I receive this form in error ? Does this count as employer tuition assistance?

You did not receive the form in error; however, you do not need to enter the form in your return. Since your employer paid the tuition and you did not, you are not eligible for an education credit.

Your employer's tuition assistance is not taxable to you as long as it was under $5250.
