Question

I teach at a Catholic School in Indiana, but do Title One tutoring through the public school system. Do I qualify for the Educator Expense Credit on my state form?

It would depend on whether you are a W-2 employee within the public school system (in which case Yes) or contracted and paid with a 1099 (in which case No, the expenses would be listed on your Schedule C)

According to the State of Indiana:

“Who is Eligible?
Anyone who is an eligible educator working for an Indiana school corporation, on qualified expenses for classroom supplies”

“You are an eligible educator if, during the taxable year, you are employed as a Kindergarten -12 Indiana public school”...
