Question

I was a student from January 1st to May 28th does that qualify for a full-time student for 5 months?

Probably.  The definition of 'full-time student' depends on whether you were considered a full-time student at your school for the time you attended. If so, then Yes, you were a full-time student. 

 

To qualify for Education Credits you only need to be 'at least half-time'.

 

The 5 month-full time rule  applies to the ability of your parents (or any other relative) to claim you as a "Qualifying Child" dependent. 

 

In your case, you would qualify as a Dependent (if that is why you were asking).
