Question

If I am divorced and claiming my daughter this year, do I use the full amount on the 1098-T for qualified college expenses or one half, since her father paid half?

Actually if you are claiming her--you can enter all of it--even the ex's part.  Only the parent who is claiming the dependent can claim the education credit.     Her father cannot claim it.

Thanks for the reply. I do realize he can't claim any of it, since that was my situation last year, I just wondered if it was okay to claim what did not actually come out of my pocket. I like your answer though!
