I only lived in Texas from the end of June through the beginning of December while attending school. Do I need to file that I lived in another state?

No. That would only be an issue if you had income from the other state.

Q. Do I need to file that I lived in another state?

A. No. Students, who are away at school, are only considered as temporarily away from their (and usually the parent's) primary home.  You are considered to be a full year resident of your home state.
