If I claim my mom as a dependent, does that make me responsible for her student loans?

My mom relies on social security and has student loans. She is on IDR and pays 0. But, when she passes away does that make her student loans my responsibility?

No. You are not responsible for your mother's student loans even if she is your dependent.

 

You are only responsible if you co-sign her student loans, which is probably not the case.
