Question

If I didn't receive a 1098 T and I only have paid $437.00 in a student loan, is this not enough to qualify for taking an interest deduction?

Yes, you can claim the Student loan interest payment deduction. It mentions you should have a 1098E but Turbo Tax does not ask for the 1098E information. Make sure you have verifiable proof though of this payment that was made.

To report, go to federal>deductions and credits>education>student Loan Interest paid (1098 E).
