I have filed for the college credit already for 4 years but it hasn't been for a full year every time

When you claim the AOTC education credit for 4 years, it doesn't matter whether you claimed for the full year.   To receive the credit one of the questions you are asked is Was ________ Enrollment Status for 2021 At Least Half-Time?  So it does not matter that you were not a full year.

The only education credit you would be entitled to would be lifetime learning.

There are two education/tuition credits available. The more generous American Opportunity Credit (AOC or AOTC) is limited to only being claimed 4 times regardless of how manty terms you actually attended school.

When you follow the interview correctly, TurboTax will automatically award you the Lifetime Learning Credit (LLC).  There is no limit on how many times the LLC can be claimed or on how long your education takes,  But, be aware the LLC does not have a refundable feature like the AOC.  It can only be used to reduce your actual tax liability.
