If my child's 1098-T does not include payments made in 2019 for spring 2020, and the school indicates they will not be fixing it, what are my options?

Check box 7 only if your actual 1098-T has it checked.   Be sure to keep all you billing statements in case of an audit.

You claim the tuition credit, or report scholarship income, based on your own financial records, not the 1098-T. In the 1098-T screen, click on the link "What if this is not what I paid the school" underneath box 1. You will then be able to enter the actual amounts paid.

Thanks Hal_Al.  In that case, do we report box 7 (payments include amounts for spring 2020) as checked or not checked?  The 1098-t box 7 is not checked, but the actual amounts that we will report will include payments for spring 2020 (made in 2019).
