Question

If on 1098T tuition is $14,999 and scholarships and grants is $7466 why are we not eligible for the tax credit?

The 2022 1098T is for our son who does not work or has any income. We were eligible in 2021 with $16630 tuition and $12780 in scholarships and grants. So confused why not eligible for 2022

You should be eligible, unless your income is too high (more than $180K on a joint return). The student must be listed as your dependent.

You've, most likely, answered something wrong in the interview.  Try deleting the student and re-entering everything.
