If TurboTax Education Optimizer calculates the education credits and deduction for you and selects the combination, and it is prefilled do I leave it in?

If the Number of Years the American Opportunity Credit is prefilled, do I leave it ?

Yes, provided you have been using TurboTax during the course of the years you've elected to take the AOC. The system will carry this information forward and once you've used up all allowable years - whether consecutive or not - the system will then disallow it. The only way a system will not "know" this information is if you used a different tax prep software system last year and did not import or manually enter in prior year information.
