If you paid a dependent's tuition out of pocket can you use the Jersey Institution of Higher Education Tuition deduction?

They did not recieve financial aid, take out any loans, or had any GI bills involved.

    Yes, you can deduct up to $10,000 for tuition costs paid to a New Jersey college or university for your dependent if your income is $200,000 or less.  The expenses must be required to enroll or attend the school.
