I filed w turbo tax last year and in my saved info, they have my mortgage bank listed as form 1099 however the form is 1098.  does this matter? should I delete that info and add it accurately?

No, a 1098 is not the same as a 1099.

No they are two separate tax forms that report very different things.

1098 is used to report Mortgage Information, Student loan interest paid, donations to charities, and college expenses

1099 is used to report royalties income, miscellaneous income, interest and dividend income, and government payments and many others

Yes, this does matter because the tax treatment is different for each form depending on what type of income is reported on the form.

If you have entered the information in the wrong place then you should delete it and add it back in the proper place in the return.
