The standard for what is the normal full-time workload is determined by each eligible educational institution. However, the standard may not be lower than any of those established by the U.S. Department of Education under the Higher Education Act of 1965.

It depends on the eligible educational intuition you attend. I suggest contacting the educational institution.

Q. Does the IRS consider an Alternative Certification Program for teachers to be a full time student status?

A. No.

Full time status is what the eligible institution (your school) says is full time status.
