Question

Is it correct to have a 7 digit number result for tuition deduction?

It says my college tuition expenses of (7 digit number). That alone doesn't sound right. I didn't enter any number close to that and there wasn't an option to question where that result came from

No. It sounds like perhaps the pennies were entered. Tax returns always round to the nearest dollar. To edit these details, follow these steps:

  1. From inside TurboTax, in the search box, enter 1098t.
  2. Select the Jump to link in the search results.
  3. Select Edit next to your name.
  4. At Here's Your education Summary, edit what is needed.

If you still experience unexpected results, delete Form 1098-T and start over. To delete your details, follow these steps:

  1. From the left menu, select Tax Tools.
  2. Select Tools.
  3. Scroll to Delete a Form.
  4. Scroll to Education Tuition and Fees Summary and select Delete and Delete Selected Form and Continue.
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the next window and select Continue With My Return.
