Fix Minnesota Return then Check This Entry--When I enter it ($5000 max) it just keeps looping me back to the same page and error report saying All W-2, 1099, W-2G information for Schedule M1W should be entered on Federal Return.

If you meet the qualifications stated in Student Loan Credit | Minnesota Department of Revenue ,you can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information.  If you would like to do this, here are the instructions:

If you are online, go to tax tools>tools > share file with agent > 6 digit number pops up.

If on desktop, go to online >send tax file to agent > number pops.

Reply with the 6 digit # here and @AmyC please

There is no way to privately contact someone in this department, a public forum. There is a social media team you can privately dm- direct message-  with Facebook and twitter.

I have gone through the entire tax return and could not locate how to correct this.  I put a dollar amount of $5000 on line but it still doesn't work.

Please tell me where on MN return this can be corrected.  I have looked and cannot see where the mistake is.

Line 7 is the one causing so much trouble as it will not allow you to enter an amount if your income is too high. If your income is eligible, enter the amount, up to $5,000, of your qualified loan. If your income is too high, delete the state form as explained above.

From my understanding, my spouse can't claim this credit (his income too high) but I can. It glitches because of his column line 7.  I get stuck in the never ending loop. Married couples can claim $1000 ($500 each). What is the solution to this?
