Question

My child has $11,000 tuition expenses for school and $6500 in aid. Turbotax states scholarships are more than cost so there is no credit. How can this be corrected?

Cost was more than scholarships. Why isn't it calculating a net loss?

While you are entering the 1098-T, there is a question about other scholarships or aid, you may have entered the same aid a second time which doubled it. Review your entries.

Go through the entire education interview until you reach a screen titled "Your Education Expenses Summary".  Click edit next to the student's name. That should take you to a screen “Here’s your Education Summary”. Click edit next to the section you want to change; in your case, both  tuition(click edit next to the school name). and Scholarships.
