My daughter did not receive a 1098-T to report tuition on our taxes. What do we do?

Have you tried going on the school's website to see if you can download it?

Request one from her school if you want to take an education credit.  If you know how much you paid for her qualified education expenses, you can enter the information.   There are some exceptions to the rule requiring the 1098-T.   Where do I enter qualified education expenses?   Use those instructions even if you don't have a form 1098-T - you can enter tuition and other expenses once you have the school information entered.

After saying no to having received a 1098-T, answer yes to the question do you qualify for an exception.

That assumes you know that your school is an eligible institution and that you otherwise qualify for the credit.

Many schools no longer mail out the 1098-T.  You obtain it from your school account, online.

What reason did the school give you for not providing a 1098-T?
