My domestic partner received a scholarship through my benefit as a university employee, which increased my taxable income. Does his 1098-T go on his tax filings or mine?

When I tried to "Add A Student", I entered his info and answered all the questions as they pertain to him. However, at the end, it showed my own name as the student.

The 1098-T goes on his tax return.

You cannot claim the tuition credit, even though you effectively paid his tuition, because he is not your  dependent.

Although the general rule, in taxes, is that you must make the payment to claim the tax benefit, education is an exception.  He can claim the credit because the tuition was paid with after tax money (essentially a gift from you)
