My refund dropped a lot after I entered the amount my high school paid my local college for me to take a class there. Why is that?

This was a program called early college credit through my high school and it was supposed to be completely free to me. I took one class each semester of my senior year.

Are you still in high school and under 18 or under 24 and a FT student?

It sounds like you are getting an education credit that was removed when you said the school paid for it. Did you enter your 1098T?

However, if you are claimed on your parents return, you cannot take an education credit. If your parents do claim you, did you select that someone else can claim you?
