Solved

My son enrolled in college fall 2017. I paid college for all expenses. He attended class for 5 weeks, but did not complete semester. Can I deduct expenses via 1098T?

Yes.  You can claim the amounts you paid for tuition (and books) when the student withdraws from classes if the tuition amounts were not refunded to you.

For more information, please see:  IRS Publication 970
