My son is 17 a full time high school student it did not give me an option to enter that info

Since he is under 19, the fact that he is a full time student is not relevant. So, the question is not asked, in the dependent interview.  His age, rather than student status qualifies him as a "child" for taxes.

You mean you were not able to enter your son as a dependent?  You really do not have to say he is a "full-time student" --that is generally for students after high school.
