Sounds like i use the 1098-T to complete this screen. On the 1098-& there are no adjustments to prior years in boxes 4 & 6. Scholarship money is in box 5. Do I put this in the Tax Free Assistance or Other adjustment box?

Thanks.

Go to the Federal interview section.

    1.  Select "Deductions & Credits"
    2.  Select "Expenses and Scholarships (Form 1098-T)" and click start/edit
    3. When you see Your Education Expenses Summary, select Edit to the right of your name.  You will see the following screen:

    Education screen input

Select Edit to the right of each applicable section to update your expenses and Scholarship information.

If the student is not your dependent (or yourself or spouse), you may not claim a tuition deduction or credit.

If you paid tuition for a student, the person that does claim the student as  a dependent, gets to count your payments, in calculating his credit
