Yes, if you received Form 1098-T for education expenses paid in 2020, even if you are not currently a student in 2021, the Form 1098 still needs to be filed on the return of the person claiming your exemption and any Education Credit for that year in the Education section.
Generally, do not file the 1098-T if you know it to be erroneous. The 1098-T is only an informational document. The numbers on it are not required to be entered onto your tax return.
However receipt of a 1098-T frequently means you are either eligible for a tuition credit or deduction or possibly your student has taxable scholarship income. You claim the tuition credit, or report scholarship income, based on your own financial records, not the 1098-T.
Why do you have a 1098-T and what numbers are on it.? In most cases, a "drop out" can claim a tuition credit if they actually paid tuition but did not finish the course.
If you claim the tuition credit, you do need to report that you got one or that you qualify for an exception (the TurboTax interview will handle this)
