My husband received restitution check from the attorney general of Minnesota from Minnesota school of business globe college because of the lies they told before they went bankrupt and forced to close for lying about the criminal justice program anyway am wondering how much we will have to pay out of taxes. Will it be state or federal ?

None. A refund of money paid for goods or services is not considered income, by either the feds or the state.

However, if the state sends you a tax form, like a 1099-Misc, for the money, reply back for additional instructions.
