Question

School taxes were taken out of my pay but when I fill out filing school taxes it says I owe $399 but I paid $399.36. What am I doing wrong?

    Q. What am I doing wrong?

    A. You're not getting the withholding from box 19 of your W-2 to the School District (SD) tax form. Verify that the correct SD code is entered in box 20 at the W-2 screen (sometimes employers only enter an SD name).
