So my son is away from home 8 out of 12 months for school . I pay entirely for his school (college ) and he is full time living on campus . how do i claim him?

He can be your dependent while away at college. If he is under 24 and a full time student and you supported him 100%, then he is your dependent. Enter that he lived with you for the entire year (temporary absences while in school do not count).
