Question

System says I have to upgrade to premium as I qualify for a Lifetime Learning Credit, but that didn’t increase my refund because I don’t qualify for it. How do I fix it?

I just want to file a simple return using the free software, but it won’t let me because it says I qualify for a credit that I do not. It won’t let me proceed with the free version.

If you don't qualify for the Lifetime Learning Credit,  or want to eliminate it, you'll have to delete the forms that are related to education credits.

 If you see form 8863 and form 1098-T, delete them. Click here for instructions
