The question is asking if I paid a college tuition. We did pay college tuition however all of it was paid with a student loan- nothing was out of pocket. Do I still put yes we paid it?

It doesn't matter how education expenses were paid; eligible expenses can be deducted whether they were paid out-of-pocket or through a student loan.
