Turbotax is automatically selecting American Opportunity Credit but I would like to change to Tuition Deduction. How can I make this change?

Type letme (no space between let & me) in the search box. When the dropdown list appears, click on letme rather than "jump to letme'. On the next drop down, click on the "jump to letme” link.

TT will give you the option to select another tuition  credit or deduction.

Use the tools menu and search topics for "letme".    Then you can select the tuition and feeds deduction.

  • Sign in to your account
  • Select Pick up from what you left off
  • To your left, select Federal
  • From the top, select Deductions and Credits
  • You should see a list of all tax breaks applied to you
  • If you have entered any information under Education, it should show on the list.  If you have not, click on All tax breaks to expand to locate the Education section to edit.

You can learn more about the deduction here:
