We paid $16,000. in 2020 for my daughter"s tuition which was NOT on my 1098-T. How can I deduct it?

She is our dependent and was a full-time student in 2020.

If you paid a different amount for tuition in 2020 than listed on Form 1098-T then please follow these steps:

 

  1. Login to your TurboTax Account 
  2. Click on the Search box on the top and type “1098T”
  3. Click on “Jump to 1098T”
  4. Click the link "This is not what I paid to this school" under box 1 on the 1098-T screen and enter the amount of tuition paid in 2020 in the box on the right that will appear.
