What do O do about my default student loans so I don't lose my refund ?

You cannot stop the IRS from offsetting your refund for your defaulted student loans.

 

However, the IRS will not offset your stimulus payment for these loans.

You can pay them off, and that's pretty much it. A qualified student loan that you have defaulted on isn't even bankruptable.
