Question

What do you put down if you don't receive a 1098-E? I'm all paid off so I don't have interest from 2020

I went through my lender and I am not receiving a 1098-E for 2020. I can't push through my taxes unless I fill it out. But I have no interest because I didn't make any payments because it's all paid for.

Try entering 0.

Alternatively, at the student interest summary page, click delete next to the lender's name.

 

In TurboTax (TT), enter at:

Federal Taxes Tab (Personal for H&B version)

Deductions & Credits

-Scroll down to:

--Education

  -Student Loan Interest paid (form 1098-E)

 

That should get you to the summary screen.
