It means you must report it as taxable income, on your tax return.  For more specific advice, please clarify your situation (unemployment compensation is not usually reported as a "taxable grant").

Taxable grants (Box 6). Grants of $600 or more are reported in this box and include:

  • Grants for subsidized energy financing.
  • Grants for projects that produce or conserve energy.
  • Taxable grants administered by an Indian tribal government.
