When entering your 1098-T, under box 1 it has a part you can select that say "This is not what "" paid to this school" What does that mean?

It sometimes happens that the amount reported in box 1 of form 1098-T is not exactly what you paid out of pocket for tuition. One example is when your employer paid part of the tuition.

TurboTax lets you override the amount reported in box 1 and report the actual tuition paid.

You have to keep in your tax records any document proving the amount you entered.
