You can enter the PA educational improvement tax credit and opportunity scholarship tax credit by going through the "Income and Adjustments" topic within your PA state return.

Once you are in your PA tax return, click "update" next to Income and Adjustments to walk through the topic and enter the information needed for your tax credits.  If your tax credits are transferred to you through a K-1, you can enter the credits by re-visiting the K-1s you have entered.  Click "Edit" next to your K-1.  If your tax credits are not related to K-1s, keep walking through the software, and once you have reached the screen "Any Other Business Credits?", click "Yes" and you will be able to enter the credits you need.

Hope this helps! Please let me know if you need any additional guidance on this.

I'm trying to follow your instructions. When I click on Update next to Income and Adjustments in my PA Return, it shows my two W-2s.  It doesn't show the K-1 that I entered on my Federal return, and I don't see a way to add it to the PA return. Please help.

If you are not seeing the screens @1365331 mentioned, start from the beginning of the Pennsylvania section.

  • Click on State in the left column
  • Then Continue next to Pennsylvania
  • Keep going until you see a screen for Schedule K-1 income.
  • Then a Schedule K-1 summary. Edit.
  • Continue to Partnership credits. There are boxes for PA Educational Improvement Tax Credit and PA Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit.
